Haul Truck Trainee (Trekor Metals)

Trekor Metals is hiring: Haul Truck Trainee, McLeese Lake, BC.

• Runs a Komatsu 930E haul truck at the Gibraltar open-pit copper-molybdenum mine, loading at electric rope shovels and front-end loaders, hauling and dumping to meet production targets
• Works with the Wenco dispatch system and keeps a logbook and paperwork up to date each shift
• 12-hour shifts that rotate between days and nights, in all weather; the posting does not say how many days on and off
• Asks for high school or equivalent and a valid Canadian driver’s licence; prior equipment or industry experience is an asset, so this is a way in for newer operators
• Physical demands: sitting up to 11 hours and lifting 20 to 40 lb to shoulder height a few times a shift
• Pay is listed at $35.24 an hour; full-time, reporting to the Foreman, Mine Operations. Trekor Metals is the company formerly known as Taseko Mines
