Contracts

Substation control buildings at multiple sites, SaskPower

SaskPower wants proposals to design, supply and install new control buildings at substations across Saskatchewan.

The details:

  • Owner: Saskatchewan Power Corporation (SaskPower)
  • Reference: 1019209 (request for proposals)
  • Where: Substations at Eyebrow, Pelican Narrow, Blairmore and University Heights, plus a few more sites still to be decided
  • Closes: October 22, 2026, 3:00 p.m. CST, with documents and addenda on MERX (SaskPower’s MERX page)

What to know before you bid:

  • Scope: design, supply and installation of new substation control buildings at several locations, spread over the next five years. SaskTenders lists the contract duration as three years.
  • It is a request for proposals, not a lowest-price tender. The scoring criteria, quantities, bonding and any site visit sit in the RFP particulars (Appendix A) on MERX; the SaskTenders page does not state them.
  • SaskTenders files it under engineering and architectural services and prefabricated and portable structures, so expect a design-build and prefab-building scope.
  • The notice says all amendments, addenda and clarifications will be posted on MERX, so check there before you submit. SaskTenders lists SaskPower’s Regina office as the response address.
  • No estimate is published, and the notice does not say whether a mandatory site meeting applies.
